Welcome! Welcome to the Over-comer's Support Group. We meet every Thursday evening at 7pm in Room 200 of First Baptist Church in downtown Boone at the corner of College and King Streets. The group lasts a maximum of two hours and has no childcare available.The meeting format consists of a 45 minute large group teaching and community sharing time and 60 minute gender specific small group meetings. Over-comer's is not a step program and is inter-denominational. All persons are welcome as long as they agree/adhere to the guideline of confidentiality and safety. There may be times of schedule change which will (when previously known) be announced either the week ahead or posted on the entry door. What is an Over-comer's Group? The group consists of a number of individuals, called a "Support Group", who provide for each other a place of safety and an opportunity to deal openly, honestly and appropriately with life's more difficult and insidious issues and questions. Over-comer's is not intended to be a substitute for counseling, therapy or treatment. Rather, it is the Body of Christ serving and supporting each other to learn, change and grow together from life debilitating, diminishing and controlling issues. It provides the time and caring support for you to grow beyond life's issues into wholeness and fullness in Christ. Jesus said, 'In this world you will have trouble. But take heart!
